I am uniquely qualified to advise you on matters related to China. I lived there for ten years and worked as a Political Science and History Teacher, among other subjects. I lived on a university campus, among the community, and in a Uighur community. I experienced the Chinese legal system here, in legal disputes with employers, when I was arrested and charged with being in China illegally, and again when my daughters were kidnapped at Shanghai Pudong Airport. I was a speaker at the First Inner Mongolia Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Road Show which was held shortly after the kickoff of the BRI – I spoke on climate change and related business and investment opportunities. I was there through the pandemic and three years of lockdown. I understand the culture, the Party, the government, and all in a way that no one who has not lived there possibly can.
